Here is a list of 5 things you need to know today:

1. Sunny Skies: According to the National Weather Service, today is going to be another beautiful day with sunny skies and  a high near 78 degrees. The night will be another cool one with mostly clear skies and a low around 63. 

2. Roof is on Fire: A fire tore through the attic of a South Street colonial Monday night, prompting response from several fire departments from throughout the Greater Red Bank area, including and EMS. Red Bank Fire Chief John Mego said a home owner tried to burn a beehive in the attic of the home, and that the fire quickly grew out of control. 3. Golfing Against Cancer: Ed Newman along with the help of the Sports Foundation Against Cancer has organized a golf outing held at different area golf courses each year. This year's outing held at the Rumson Country Club was a great success with over 128 golfers on the green to raise money for cancer research. 4. Friendship Games: Rumson-Fair Haven Pop Warner kicked off its Fall 2011 Season on Sunday, August 21st with the second annual Bob Kelleher Memorial Friendship Games. Four RFH Pop Warner teams competed against Bridgewater-Raritan Pop Warner and despite the rain, raised $278 for the Rumson EMS in ’s name. Click to read more about this event and see photos.
