2. Reading Buddies: Family Children’s Services is looking for volunteers for its school-based Reading Buddies program, which pairs older readers with beginner readers in a classroom setting. The program is administered through FCS’s Retired and Senior Volunteer Program and serves 18 public elementary schools in underserved communities throughout Monmouth County, including Red Bank. Reading Buddy volunteers commit at least one hour each week during the school year to read with young students in small group settings in the classroom. Interested adults should contact Lisa Schlosser at FCS at 732-222-9111, extension 153.
