4. Opening Day: Hundreds of people came out to support the little league teams and enjoy a beautiful day with friends and neighbors at the Fair Haven Opening Day Parade on April 2, 2011. The event started with a parade throughout the town to the Fair Haven Fields. Once at the fields, athletes and their families filled the outfield for the opening ceremony.  After the first pitch was thrown, families and friends enjoyed music, food and lots of entertainment throughout the day. Local Girl Scout Troop 1220 raised money for victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan at the event by collecting donations for baked goods. All proceeds were donated to the American Red Cross. Click here to see photos from this wonderful small town event.
