Holocaust Remembrance Service this Sunday, April 27

On Sunday, April 27, 2014 at 12 noon, Congregation B’nai Israel in Rumson (CBI), together with CHHANGE, the Center for Holocaust, Human Rights and Genocide Education at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, will host a memorial service to remember victims of the Holocaust. The service, which takes place on the internationally recognized date for Holocaust Remembrance, will be held in the CBI sanctuary and be led by Rabbi Jeff Sultar and Cantor Dov Goldberg.  The featured speaker will be Dale Daniels, Executive Director of CHHANGE.

The program will feature memorial tributes to former CBI congregants and holocaust survivors, Erica Rosenthal and Charlie Siers. Family members will share stories of the honorees’ courage and resistance during World War II, and filmed excerpts will show Erica and Charlie recounting their wartime experiences.
This Yom Hashoah service is free and open to the public.  Congregation B’nai Israel hopes anyone wanting to pay tribute to the victims, resisters, and survivors of the holocaust join the synagogue for this special program.

CBI is located at 171 Ridge Road, Rumson.  For further information, please contact CBI Director, Emilie Kovit-Meyer, at 732-842-1800 x 203 or emile.kovit-meyer@cbirumson.org.
