Year-Round, Indoor Monster Mini Golf, Arcade Coming Nearby

Golf course is glow-in-the-dark

Local children will have a new place to have their birthday parties nearby, as an indoor miniature golf course and arcade was unanimously approved by the Eatontown Zoning Board of Adjustment on Monday night.

Monster Mini Golf, an indoor 18-hole, glow-in-the-dark, monster-themed miniature golf course and arcade will be coming to 749 Hope Road this summer.

GloGolf Entertainment LLC Principal William Yadlon came before the board seeking a use variance, because a miniature golf course is not a permitted use in the borough's PBO-88 zone. A PBO-88 zone permits professional office buildings.

Monster Mini Golf will sit adjacent to Cuttler Produce, which moved to the area after its Long Branch location was destroyed by a fire in 2011.

Yadlon said there are 126 available parking spaces available, and said only 35-40 are currently being used.

The board agreed to allow the construction of Monster Mini Golf, with the condition that it will not open past 10 p.m., will not serve food and that its arcade does not expand into the building's space more than its golf course. Several board members said they believed an arcade would attract an older, less family-oriented crowd.

"(Monster Mini Golf) is family-oriented and does not attract teenagers or young adults," Yadlon said. "I see no detriment to the public good by allowing this use."

Yadlon said Monster Mini Golf will likely open sometime between July and September this summer.
