When's the Coffee On at Booskerdoo?

An update on the opening status of the shop

The coffee's not on and no one's home — not just yet.

People have been passing by, slowing down on River Road lately to see if they can catch a peek inside or see some sort of sign as to when Booskerdoo will open in Fair Haven and start roasting those beans and brewing those special blend javas.

Well, the latest look for Booskerdoo enthusiasts — more like zealous bean stalkers — revealed some new paint outside on the doors and a new street number. The doors have been open intermittently, but to workers only.

And a glance at the Monmouth Beach-based coffee stop's Facebook page revealed that there was much more going on inside the new Fair Haven locale than anyone knew.

In unanticipated zest to remodel, owners James and Amelia Caverly uncovered a hidden loft of sorts under the sheetrock on the ceiling in the store, which, they say in the post, opens up all sorts of new remodeling avenues for them.

That, a new baby and unexpected overhaul work pushed the opening date up from late March to mid-May.

"We are looking at an early to mid May opening," the post said. "The project keeps growing, as we are almost entirely transforming the space. This place is going to be beautiful.

"Here is a picture of the small loft (click here) we uncovered when we ripped out the drop ceiling. Not even the owner of the building knew that existed."

And what will the loft bring? Any guesses?
