What's Cookin'? FH Centennial Cake

The Fair Haven Business Association put the finishing touches on the group's float for the centennial parade.

The has cooked up something sweet for the borough’s on Saturday — an eight-foot-tall birthday cake.

Well, they didn’t really cook it. They built it.

The group of small business owners in the borough got together yesterday to put the finishing touches on the giant cake for that they will be parading on their own association float, joining several others in the centennial parade at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Leading the business pack in the parade will be Maureen Bay, owner of Gem of an Idea, driving her antique Harley Davidson motorcycle. Bay will transport Fair Haven Business Association President Michel Berger in its sidecar.

After doing some final float building and decorating, the group was treated to a barbeque behind the office of Dr. Paul Ferguson, , on River Road.

Spearheading the float building was coordinator Kendra Boyd, owner of A Chic with Stix, and Bill and Pam Boyd, owners of Boxwood Gardens Florist.

Let them float cake! … or something like that.
