Snowcapped Tiki Bar Trip, Anyone?

The Sea Bright bar at Driftwood is open to the public on weekends through May.

It may be snowy weather, but the mood is tropical in Sea Bright and the Tiki Bar at Driftwood is open.

"Come see how beautiful the ocean is in wintry weather!" a post on the bar's Facebook page said Friday. "Nice and cozy inside. Full-service bar with Eddie as our bartender."

The brand new bar, located on the beach at the club on Ocean Avenue, has been open for a few weeks now on Fridays at 5 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at noon.

And while the view may be a chilly panoramic one, its warm inside. The interior, a release said, is winterized with heaters, a granite bar, fold-out thermo-pane windows, mahogany floors and six big-screen HD TVs.

The bar is full service and there are complimentary happy hour buffets.

The major revamp of the original tiki bar began at the hands of the Stavola family, owners of Driftwood since 1957, after Hurricane Sandy.

Plans for live entertainment and a tavern menu are now underway.

"The Tiki Bar is available for private parties for up to 70 guests during the cooler months and 150 during the warmer seasons when use of the expansive deck is available," the release said. "However, when the beach club is in season (May-September) access to the bar will be for members only."

So it's time for the public to tiki now.
