Get a sneak peek of what's in store this fall for the students and prospective students of Small Factory in Fair Haven.

The arts studio for kids, at 560 River Road, will be home to a back-to-school open house on Wednesday, Sept. 4, from 4 to 6 p.m. Classes in acting, music and technology that begin on Sept. 16 will be showcased.

Instructors will explain the studio curriculum and rewards program with parents while children and young adults record original songs, do some LEGO® building, explore their inner actors in improv, create computer animations on the studio's new iMacs, and dance and sing in Me and Momma Rock.

A highlight of the open house will be an introduction to Small Factory's new proprietary software being used in Social Skills classes in partnership with Bernadette Mullen MA, CCC-SLP of Speech Start.

The software is touted as one of the most revolutionary methods of teaching social skills.

Children use real time animation software to engage in social dialogue and learning. They control their characters with video game controllers and microphones to make their animated characters talk when the children talk.

The Open House is free to attend but preregistration is requested by calling the studio at 732-212-1088. Enroll in a fall class at the open house and receive 20 percent off tuition.
