Sea Bright Businesses Rising as End of First Summer After Sandy Arrives

It's the final weekend of summer and the Hurricane Sandy-ravaged Sea Bright has come a long way since the season's start.

Some businesses have relocated. Some new ones have moved into town. And others are on the brink of opening.

Whatever way you look at it, business in the peninsula seaside town is getting back on track. Yet, there's still much work ahead.

The latest news from Sea Bright Rising is that "Gracie & the Dudes Ice Cream is back. Come check them out (Ocean Ave across from public beach) Beach Burgers and Grille (Where Kind Burger was……New to town and open for business) BeachWalk at Sea Bright (the old Fairbanks) is a completley renovated resort….hotel rooms, pool, tiki bar and more. Anjelica’s is hard at work and coming soon……(Stay tuned). Century 21 Real Estate looks close…….(stay tuned)."

Other than that, here's the rundown:

estaurants and businesses that have reopened in the same spot are … Bain's Hardware, Dunkin' Donuts, Sea Bright Pizza, Harry's Lobster House, Mad Hatter, Giglio's Bait Shop, 7-Eleven, Andy K's as Sea Bright Market, Yumi sushi, Angler's Marina (57 years in Sea Bright), Super Golden Chinese restaurant,

• Brian George's Northshore moved in across the street from its original location in the building referred to as Big Yellow. George is a Rumson resident.

• 3B Fit, a new business, moved in next to where Steve's used to be; and where Steve's once was is now Alice's Kitchen, renovated with a fireplace.

• Jake's Surf Shop, owned by a longtime West Park Rumsonite, opened recently in the old bank building next to Bain's.

• Where Kind Burgers once was is now Beach Burgers and Grille, as Sea Bright Rising's Facebook page says.

DIVE! is striving to make a comeback.

• Angelica's is coming back soon, just taking a bit longer than anticipated.

• And, let's not forget Mrs. Rooney's longtime hot dog stand. It got yarn bombed to spiff up the corner for Mrs. Rooney.

The Sea Bright Public Beach is on its way back, too.

If you haven't visited one of many of the businesses this summer, it's not too late. Let us know if we've missed anything.
