Rumson Restaurants Get Ready for a Special Month

Restaurant owners met at Val's Tavern to kick off Rumson Restaurant Month.

Owners of the restaurants in Rumson all came together last night at Val's Tavern for a kick-off party to celebrate the upcoming Rumson Restaurant Month.

Starting March 1st, participating restaurants will have prix fixed menus, specially-priced dishes, bar specials and more to entice new patrons and honor all their loyal customers.

The Mayor already has plans to take full advantage of the specials each restaurant has to offer. "My wife has already committed me to attending every restaurant throughout the month!" said Mayor Ekdahl.

The Mayor said that the goal of the Rumson Restaurant Month is to help bring in new patrons from outside of the Rumson area. "We want Rumson to be a dining destination," he said at the kick-off meeting.

Karen Irvine, coordinator of Rumson Restaurant Month, agrees and said that this is a great way to get the businesses to work together for a common cause.  "It is really in our best interest that all the restaurants thrive because it drives business into our area," said Irvine.
