Opening Brewing at Booskerdoo

The paper has been pulled back from the windows. The new signs are hanging. Potted flowers dot the outside. And Adirondack chairs line the side. The coffee's on at the Booskerdoo in Fair Haven, and Friday's the day it'll be served up.

"Friday it is!" said owners to anxious coffee lovers on the Booskerdoo Facebook page. What time on Friday was not yet divulged, but it'll likely be the early morning, since it is a coffee shop.

And brewing and serving up the java behind the counter will be the Fair Havenite who has become a local coffee shop icon for her expertise and just plain great personality.

"A lot of Fair Haven folks have been asking about local celebrity barista Trudi Williams ... 'Is Trudi coming back?' has become a very common question," said owner James Caverly on Facebook. "Trudi was a Java Stop barista since the beginning ... that's 12 years! And she will continue!"

Replacing Java Stop on River Road, where Trudi Williams earned her icon status, Booskerdoo was slated for an April opening. But, that date got pushed up because Caverly and his wife, Amelia, were busy with new baby Clare, and when they started getting steeped in renovations at the shop, they found more projects to tackle than originally anticipated.

So, now "Friday it is!" Patch will keep you posted and stop in for a chat and a cup o' Joe with Trudi and the Caverlys.
