VIDEO: Monmouth Residents Take the Plunge for Cancer Awareness

Middletown resident took a chilly dip as Mad Hatter restaurant's annual polar bear plunge raised money for the Next Generation Foundation.

Monmouth County residents jumped into the icy waters along the Sea Bright Municipal Beach on New Year's Day.

The 3rd Annual Polar Bear Plunge was sponsored by restaurant and the Next Generation Foundation, a New Jersey-based nonprofit. The theme of this year's event was breast cancer awareness.

Funds raised by the polar bear plunge will benefit the Next Generation Foundation, which seeks to involve young people in the fight against cancer.
