Back to School in Rumson: New Teachers

Who's new and who's who at the helm and in the classroom in the district.

School starts in the Rumson School District on Sept. 9 with not only relatively new faces at the helm, but in the classroom as well.

In addition to new Deane Porter School Principal Shari Feeney and a new district-wide assistant principal, Amy Romano, some students will be greeted in the classroom by new Forrestdale School teachers.

Romano comes to the district from Howell, where she was a "teacher leader," according to state records. Her last salary there was listed as $50,800, according to the records. Her salary in Rumson has not been divulged.

Feeney has been in the Rumson district for some time and has 17 years of experience and a master's degree, according to state records. Her last salary was listed as $82,130, according to the records. Her salary as principal of Deane Porter has not yet been listed.

Superintendent Maryrose Caulfield-Sloan has provided a list of new Forrestdale teacher hires, who, she said, the district "welcomes enthusiastically."

The new hires are: Eileen Farrell, fourth grade; Rebecca Lynch and Jennifer Stahl, seventh grade English/language arts; and Suzanne Mauri, seventh grade math.

Salaries and backgrounds of the new teachers were not provided upon request.
