Rumson Fair Haven High School Showcase a Year of Art and Music

RFH talent was on display at the 7th annual Art Show nad spring Music Concert.

RFH High school held a juried art show and music concert on June 2nd which proved to be a wonderful display of their student’s talents. The school brought in adjudicators from outside the school to judge the art work, including Theresa Caracappa, the curator for the oceanic Library and Art Alliance of Monmouth County, and Sandy Taylor, Art Education Director at the Monmouth County Arts Festival. There were prizes in several categories including drawing, pastel, sculpture, functional art and painting.

Ken Robertson won Best Portfolio in show, while Katie Laughinghouse won Best Piece in Show. There was an ‘Art Without Borders’ award for the best piece that uses unexpected media or composition. That award went to Kate Higgenson for her depiction of the evils of smoking drawn or painted on cigarette butts.

The crowd was able to enjoy music from various bands and orchestras from the school. These included the Jazz Big Band, Percussion Ensemble and Symphonic Band. Allie Luisi and Gabby Kenny sang a duet from Jekyll and Hyde, and Alexa Wutt and Austin Ryan also sang a duet from Phantom of the Opera.
