Papp is a lifelong photography who took her first photographs as a child growing up in Hungary. She has documented many of her travels throughout the world and the United States.

Papp says she is never without her camera and loves to take photos of anything around her. “I just would like to capture everything, make memories, history and art and to show people the way I see the world,” said Papp.

Her photos have been accepted in 7 juried art shows and one of them won third place in its category at the Ocean County Artist Guild.

The photos on display at the Oceanic Library feature “wondrous small photographic moments” she has found in the Two River area including Rumson, Sea Bright and Red Bank. One of the photos is a “solarized image” of the library itself.

Papp’s photography comes in a beautiful frame and is priced between $60-$110.

Mary Ellen Maas – Hand-made Jewelry

Maas is a Fair Haven resident with a passion for creating jewelry.

“I have been designing jewelry as far back as I can remember. As a kid, I used anything I could find- plastic beads, sewing thread, ribbon and string,” explained Maas.

Now, the artist has graduated to semi-precious gemstones, pearls, Swarvorski crystals and metals.

Creating jewelry was a hobby for Maas until she was encouraged by family and friends to sell her work. Maas had her first public showing right at the Oceanic Library. Seeing a great response to her work, Maas now participates in local gift shows and has created an online presence on Etsy.com.

“I feel very fortunate to have found a hobby that is so fulfilling and I am always appreciative of the support of those who admire my work,” said Maas.

Maas said she shares her success, donating a majority of her sales with local charitable and non-profit organization.
