Winter Storm Watch Through Wednesday

Heaviest snowfall expected on Tuesday

The National Weather Service is predicting a storm that will make for a messy drive home on Tuesday night.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued from 10 a.m. on Tuesday until 6 a.m. on Wednesday. The latest estimates call for between five and nine inches of snow. However, some forecasts have called for close to one foot of snow before the storm has passed.

Show could accumulate as much as an inch per hour according to the weather service. That could make for hazardous snow-covered roads and low visibility.

The heaviest snowfall is expected to come in the afternoon and last into the evening on Tuesday, which could make for hazardous travel, particularly during the evening commute.

Adding to the difficult conditions is the wind expected to come with the storm. The wind is expected to reach between 10 and 20 miles-per-hour with gusts possibly as high as 35.

All this comes on a day when temperatures are expected to be in the lower 20s.
