New Jersey American Water construction crews are busy in
Rumson installing more than 1,100 feet of water main that dates back to the
Approximately 600 feet of water
main is being installed along Lincoln Avenue, from Ward and Waterman avenues. Cast iron pipes that were two inches in diameter are being replaced by larger, eight-inch PVC pipes.
Crews are also installing 600 feet of eight-inch PVC
pipe on Ward Lane from E. River Road to Avenue of Two Rivers, replacing 1.5
inch galvanized steel pipes.
The more than $150,000 in main replacements
began last month and are expected to be completed by early November.
The project is part of New Jersey
American Water’s Community Pipeline Revival (CPR) a multimillion dollar
program to accelerate the renewal of water infrastructure that is reaching
the end of its problem-free life in more than 100 communities across
