Remains Discovered on Sandy Hook Not Human

The remains were found in the bay at Gateway National Recreation Area on Saturday.

The remains discovered in Sandy Hook bay on Saturday were not of human origin, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Brian Polite said Sunday.

The remains were found on the side of the bay nearest tor the Gateway National Recreation Area. Initially, authorities could not conclusively say if they were of human or animal origin, sparking concerns they belonged to missing clammer Edward Broderick, who was last seen on Dec. 14 and remains missing.
