In Fair Haven: Concert of the Century, 90 Years

A lifetime resident turns 90 and three bands play to celebrate the borough's Centennial on Saturday

This weekend there are two milestone celebrations — one public and one private — honoring 100 years as a borough and one special resident's near 100 (90) years of life in town.

Saturday, starting at 4 p.m. on the dock at the end of Fair Haven Road, the event dubbed the Concert of the Century will feature three local bands rocking the night away.

Event organizers encourage everyone to come out to sing, dance and enjoy the riverfront view and talent in this small town.

Word has it, too, that Ken Lockwood — a lifetime Fair Haven resident, master lawn tender, gardener, Acme shopper and all-around kind and intelligent man — is turning 90. We've been told that he's laid down bets that he'll easily make it to 100 plus. And that's a good bet. Lockwood graduated from R-FH in the 1930s and served in World War II. He always has an interesting story to tell.

Patch has a good idea of where to find him and will sieze the moment to chat with him about all of it. He loves a good scoop, even if he's the scoop.
