Get Set for Red Bank Girls Night Out

The event will be held Thursday evening.

It's a girls night out of a different kind — the downtown Red Bank kind.

Aptly dubbed Girls Night Out in Red Bank, the twice yearly event sposored by RiverCenter and now in its second year, is taking over the "cool little town" on Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m.

During that timeframe, all girls from all over are invited to shop, dine and drink at a discount from participating merchants while StreetLife performers entertain and Barbizon models are showcased as live mannequins in shop windows. A no-fee registration makes participants eligible for prizes as well.

 Since last year's inaugural Girls Night Out, the event has gained a lot of popularity and brought "extraordinary atmosphere" to town, RiverCenter Acting Executive Director James Scavone said.

"It’s just plain fun the whole night long," he added. "Women enjoy the sensational shopping specials that are available and the opportunity to sit with their friends and have a drink or share some appetizers.  Red Bank really comes alive.”

This year, there will be new additions, such as a lounge stop at Investors Bank on White Street, where a Meridan-sponsored Momtourage Lounge will feature music, refreshments and the advice of doctors and bloggers from www.Momtourage.com, RiverCenter Program Manager Amanda Lynn said.

Ladies will also be offered a free photo flip book from the business Flippin Fun as a momento of their evening with friends.

“We wanted to create a fun city vibe as well as showcase our sponsor (Meridan/Riverview Medical Center), so we added a lounge stop and hope this will create some buzz,” she added.

This is how Girls Night Out works:

• At the onset, girls should first check in at either theGLAMbar, at 116 Broad Street, Monmouth Street Emporium, at 27 Monmouth Street, or The Galleria, at 2 Bridge Avenue;

• At check-in, participants receive a free reusable shopping bag and guide mapping out the evening's store and restaurant promotions;

• All who register will be entered to win a grand prize package featuring gift certificates and treats from the participating businesses;

• All are also eligible for door prizes from the stores and restaurants involved.

Pre-registration for the event is recommended for eligibility in a drawing for a $100 Red Bank Gift Card. For more information, check the RiverCenter website at www.ACoolLittleTown.com.
