Fair Haven 2nd Annual Town-Wide Yard Sale & Businesses Sidewalk Sale

Yard sale is on May 21 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Still looking for volunteers to help the morning of the sale.

Fair Haven is gearing up to host their second annual town-wide sale on May 21st with 100+ residential yard sales and 30+ local businesses having a sidewalk sale at the same time.

“Last year, the event was a great success with more than half of Fair Haven households participating. Traffic was unbelievable on River Road and local merchants came together around a fun town affair,” said Michel Berger, President of Fair Haven Business Association (FHBA). “It is our local version of Facebook and eBay, hanging out with neighbors and selling stuff.”

Bargain hunters will discover treasures in Fair Haven – books, furniture, collectibles, tools, clothes, toys, knickknacks, jewelry and more. A treasure map lists all Fair Haven yard sale locations, with copies available Saturday at the town’s two gas stations. To make it easier to find, each yard sale and sidewalk sale location will display a bright orange balloon.

Kathy DeVincens, owner of Shutters, said she had many clients come in and buy stuff they wanted for a while using cash they got from selling their own unwanted items. “Fair Haven abounds with charming shops to delight and tempt every whim," stated Kathy DeVincens, owner of Shutters.

Mayor Mike Halfacre agreed: “This is a great opportunity for our residents and local businesses to work together to expose Fair Haven's great business district to a new audience of visitors."

“This event brings people together, creates a wonderful sense of belonging and good will," continued Berger.  “It is a venue for residents to offer their patronage to local businesses. In a tough economy, it’s all about helping each other and having fun at it too. "

This year again, all are invited to submit a photo of their most bizarre item and send it to info@forefrontcorp.com for a chance to win a prize. Last year’s winning photo was an adult African bush elephant toe nail. You never know what you will find in Fair Haven!
