Easter Means Delicious Spring Brunch in Rumson and Fair Haven

Wondering what to do for Easter with the family? Relax, and enjoy all that fine dining has to offer in Rumson and Fair Haven.

Wondering what to do this Easter?  There is plenty going on in Rumson and Fair Haven to make your family gathering special.  After the kids have found the treats left by the Easter Bunny and the church services have been attended, thoughts can turn to food and the fresh Spring menus of the local restaurants.

But, before the family descends on Sunday, start the weekend off with a delicious serving of Fish and Chips on Good Friday.  Suzette at the Gourmet Picnic in Fair Haven will be concluding her Fish Fry which ran for the duration of lent.  From 11am come in for a quick meal of battered cod and fries or a flounder sandwich.  While you’re there, pick up a specialty quiche, cake or cupcakes for your family gathering on Sunday. Patch can personally recommend the chocolate chip cookies, still hot from the oven.  The Gourmet Picnic will be open on Easter Sunday from 6am till 2pm.

Sunday is a traditional day for family gatherings, either at your home or at one of the delicious brunches offered in town.  Laurie Potter from River Road Books will be celebrating quietly at home with her husband and two of her three children after attending Easter Mass at Holy Cross.  However William Regnault and his family have no intention of cooking and are planning on enjoying a relaxing brunch at one of the local restaurants.

There are plenty of options to choose from.  David Burke’s Fromagerie will be serving brunch from 10am on Sunday including delicious spring inspired courses such as Colorado Lamb Chops, Seared Branzino with Charred Ramps and Rhubarb & Strawberry Consommé served with Lime Yogurt Sorbet. Or come for dinner and enjoy a three course Pix fix menu.

The Raven and the Peach in Fair Haven is also serving a special a la carte menu from noon which will include asparagus salad as an appetizer and peach and honey glazed ham for entrée.

If you prefer an Easter Buffet for brunch, Nauvoo Grill will have something special for the early birds.  They will be open at 8am with a country buffet breakfast that will be available until 2pm in the afternoon.  They will also serve an a la carte menu starting at 11:30, highlighting traditional lamb and ham dishes and several fish specials.

The Salt Creek Grille is featuring a Champagne brunch including waffle, carving, omelet and dessert stations, beginning at 11am.  Patch recommends that reservations should be made at all restaurants as places are filling up fast.
