THE NEWCOMERS CLUB’S TOUCH-A-TRUCK FUNDRAISER PROFITS OVER $4500 FOR SEA BRIGHT RISING

The Newcomers Club of Rumson, Fair Haven, Little Silver and Shrewsbury raised more than $4500 at its 6th Annual Touch-A-Truck Fundraiser held on Saturday, September 28th in Fair Haven, NJ to benefit Sea Bright Rising, an organization devoted to assisting in the recovery of the town of Sea Bright as a result of the devastation from Hurricane Sandy in the Fall of 2012.  

Touch-A-Truck, which is sponsored by The Newcomers Club every fall, is a fun and exciting event where kids of all ages can sit on, climb on and honk the horns and sirens of trucks of all types.  More than 250 kids were in attendance to play with the trucks, get temporary tattoos, listen to music, participate in a raffle and enjoy sweet concessions all for the benefit of the community.  The Fair Haven Fire Department once again donated the use of its property for the event and local police departments, EMS teams and private businesses donated their trucks and time for the cause.

The Club will donate all $4,570 of its proceeds to Sea Bright Rising, which is the Club charity for the 2013-2014 year.  Last year, The Newcomers Club donated more than $21,000 to the Parker House and hopes to meet or exceed this success for Sea Bright Rising.  

In addition to the Touch-A-Truck Fundraiser, The Newcomers Club hosts two other events that are open to the public: "A Toast to the Town" which was held on October 26th at Smart Start in Fair Haven, NJ and “Lucky Name,” an evening of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and prize auctions which will be held at Eventide Grille in Sea Bright on March 22nd.  Proceeds from these events will also be donated to Sea Bright Rising.  For more information, please contact Lynette Ming - lynetteming@hotmail.com or visit The Newcomers Club's website at http://www.newcomersclubinc.com/.
