LOCAL FASHION SHOW TO BENEFIT KICK CANCER OVERBOARD

WHAT: In conjunction with Castle Couture of Marlboro, NJ, Ceylone Boothe Grooms -- a model and three time pageant queen -- has organized a fashion show to benefit the NJ-based non-profit organization Kick Cancer Overboard.  The show will feature local beauty queens and cancer survivors who are donating their time and talent. Cancer survivor, Kick Cancer Overboard co-founder and Red Bank resident Donnalyn Giegerich will act as mistress of ceremonies.

In the Mrs. Pageant system, there are three main titles: Mrs. NJ America, Mrs. NJ United States, & Mrs. NJ International.  Ceylone Boothe Grooms is one of only two women in the history of these pageants to hold a title for all three. She was Mrs. NJ United States in 2009, Mrs. NJ America in 2012 and is currently Mrs. NJ International 2013.

DonnaLyn is a professional speaker and national spokesmodel, insurance entrepreneur & creator of www.donnalyn.org, a global advocacy site to empower others. She is a rare sarcoma survivor & caregiver in this courageous cancer couple’s journey elevating what’s possible with “less fear, more fun”.

About Kick Cancer Overboard:

Kick Cancer Overboard is a local non-profit organization with a very simple mission: To give away FREE cruises, to people whose lives have been affected by cancer. During this annual cruise, their main concern is NOT how to pay for their next medical bill, but whether to play bingo, get a massage or sing karaoke all night long.

Anybody affected by cancer can submit their request for a free cruise (on the KCO website). A committee will review the entries on a regular basis and choose the most deserving cancer fighters.

Because of the overwhelming support from many local businesses, Kick Cancer Overboard has been able to sponsor 58 people to date, and offer them a well-deserved break on a beautiful cruise ship. You can view their stories at www.kickcanceroverboard.org.
