8U Fair Haven Diamonds Win Championship

The 8U Fair Haven Diamonds travel baseball team, playing in the United States Amateur Baseball League, beat the Rumson Dawgs in the semi-finals on Saturday June 21st.

The team then traveled to Ocean township for the Championship Game on Sunday June 22nd.  The Ocean Hammerheads were undefeated on a solid season. However, the Fair Haven Diamonds pulled ahead early and never looked back winning decisively 9-1.

Fair Haven Diamond pitchers Trent Stevens and Nick Rigby held the hard- hitting Hamerheads to few hits and minimal walks.

Head Coach of the Diamonds, John LoGioco, says: “It was a tremendous effort by all involved.  Our boys stayed focused and delivered in all the right places.  I can’t be more proud of this team and what they have accomplished over the last 2 years.”
