Local Summer; Nick Clemons, Mr. Pizza

It's what's going on in the Rumson-Fair Haven area on Thursday.

Well, good morning friends and fans! And a good weather morning it is and is slated to be for a few days now.

Take that, weather troll. No more thunderstorm threats this week. It's supposed to be clear, dry and sunny with temperatures reaching a high of 79 degrees.

It is truly local summertime and the living is just what the local ordered by the beach. Check out our photo gallery of local summer in Sea Bright.

And, you may want to plan around the tides if you can get into, onto or near the ocean, so here's the table for today into tomorrow:

2013-09-05  6:27 a.m.  Sunrise
2013-09-05  7:36 a.m.  New Moon
2013-09-05  9:42 a.m.  3.54 feet  High Tide
2013-09-05  3:46 p.m.  0.09 feet  Low Tide
2013-09-05  7:20 p.m.  Sunset
2013-09-05  9:49 p.m.  3.67 feet  High Tide
2013-09-06  4:12 a.m.  -0.04 feet  Low Tide
2013-09-06  6:28 a.m.  Sunrise

And here's your daily dose of sun and moon information from www.tides4fishing.com:

"The lunar phase is a Waning Crescent. Today we will have 12 hours and 53 minutes of sun. The solar transit will be at 12:54 pm and the length of time the moon will be visible will be 12 hours and 34 minutes."

Don't forget that Jazz Night next door in Red Bank is tonight at Riverside Gardens Park and features none other than the Nick Clemons Band! Of course, Nick is the oldest son of Springsteen E-Street Band sax player, Clarence Clemons. The band is touted to bring "a high-energy mix of funk, soul, jazz, and R&B with an edge," according to a Red Bank release. Be there or be ... well, lose out.

We'll be giving an update on some things in Sea Bright, adding some back-to-school news, in addition to our Rumson schools update and be sure to weigh in with your memories of Mr. Pizza Slice under the ownership of Steve Napolitani, who has just retired.

Let us know if we've forgotten anything. In the meantime, I'll see you around the towns ...
