Full Moon, Schools, Throwback, Cyclist Update

It's what's going on in the Rumson-Fair Haven area on Thursday.

Good Thursday morning to you, friends and fans!

Yes, it's going to be another good local summer day. Though, the air is getting more crisp, with the weather troll, uh, National Weather Service, predicting high temperatures in the low 70s.

So, if you're feeling like you need to catch a last wave of summer, hit the beach, if you can.

Here's the tide table for Sea Bright for this afternoon going into tomorrow:

2013-09-19  3:43 PM EDT  -0.30 feet  Low Tide
2013-09-19  6:57 PM EDT   Sunset
2013-09-19  9:49 PM EDT   4.02 feet  High Tide
2013-09-20  4:01 AM EDT  -0.41 feet  Low Tide
2013-09-20  6:41 AM EDT   Sunrise
2013-09-20 10:14 AM EDT   4.07 feet  High Tide

And, yes, the moon is looking bright and full, so here's some mystical moon and sun information from www.tides4fishing.com:

The moon set at 6:47 am at 272º west. Eventually, the moon will rise again in the east (85º) at 6:54 p.m. … The lunar phase is a Full Moon. Today we have 12 hours and 15 minutes of sun. The solar transit is at 12:49 pm and the length of time the moon will be visible will be 11 hours and 53 minutes."

Around the towns …

• The weekend is approaching and, again, there's lots to do in the area. The fourth annual Guinness Oyster Festival is coming to Red Bank on Sunday, and there are a couple of kids-oriented events in Rumson and Fair Haven, which we will give you the scoop on later.

In the meantime, check out our round-up of weekend events in Monmouth County.

News …

• We have a fun Throwback Thursday item coming to the site.

• There's an update on some new faces and supervisory responsibility shifts in the Fair Haven schools; and, we'll be featuring something on the recognition of custodians.

• We'll also have an update on the injured cyclist, Cole Porter.

Until then, caption this photo (or imagine … something), and I'll see you around the towns.
