The year 2012 has been a good year for Rumson-Fair Haven area real estate.
After 11 months, median home prices were up 6 percent in Rumson and up 3 percent in Fair Haven.
However, the real estate market usually slows down in December, January and February. Fewer homes are listed for sale, and there are fewer people looking to buy.
The good news is that buyers who are looking at this time of year tend to be serious buyers who are ready, willing and able to make a commitment.
To underscore this point, we’re ending the year with a strong finish: in the first half of December, six Fair Haven homes and five Rumson home sales closed.
It gets even better: of the six Fair Haven closings, three homes closed after having been on the market for less than three weeks (seven, nine and 20 days).
