VNAHG to Celebrate 100 Years of Caring
Chapel Beach Club, Sea Bright, will host the centennial celebration honoring the Visiting Nurse Association's Health Group
There's yet another centennial celebration happening this weekend.
Since 1912, the Visiting Nurse Association Health Group (VNAHG) has been providing in-home care, hospice services, and community programs to residents in need.
Now known as the largest non-profit community health provider and the second largest visiting nurse association in the nation, VNAHG has decided to celebrate its longevity with what has been dubbed its Centennial Celebration Gala.
The Centennial Celebration Gala will take place on Saturday, June 23, at the Chapel Beach Club in Sea Bright. According to a press release on the event, longtime VNA Health Group supporters Lynn and Bill Spector, Ann and Tony Gargano and Robert and Kathy Dibble have been named the co-chairs for the event.
“We are honored to be involved in this once-in-a-lifetime tribute to an organization that, for the past century, has served the community with dedication and compassion,” Lynn Spector said. “Many of us have been helped through times of need and crises by the incomparable professionals of VNA Health Group. It is wonderful to have the opportunity to show our appreciation for all of their selfless service.”
Attendees of the night’s event will be joined by Honorary Gala chairmen Brendan Byrne, Thomas Kean and author Mary Higgins Clark. In addition to celebrating VNA’s 100 years of caring, guests will dine, dance to music by The Rhythm Shop, watch a presentation on the history of the VNA Health Group, and have an opportunity to go home with jewelry and vacations by participating in a live and silent auction.
Local volunteers will also be honored for their dedication and support. Featured honorees of the event are the Mulheren family. The Mulherens have hosted two editions of the Stately Homes by-the-Sea Designer Show House at their historical estates of Scothigh Farm and Sheep’s Run.
Nancy Mulheren served as co-chair for the 2011 Designer Show House at Holly Hill, Middletown. Mulheren, president and CEO of Rumson Management, also serves on the foundation board of the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey's (VNACNJ).
All proceeds from the event will go to the VNA Health Group’s programs and services to ensure community-based care to all those who need it.
