Two Rumson Children Attend Premiere of Their Own Pet Film
Winners of 'Tails of Love' contest created a short film at Small Factory Productions to help educate children about animal awareness.
Two Rumson children will be attending the premiere of a short film that they helped create.
This spring, children, ages 5 to 10 from across Monmouth County, were invited to submit their original animal stories or drawings to the “Tails of Love” contest.
"The ‘Tails of Love’ winners and Small Factory Productions have created a fun and unique vehicle for the Purr'n Pooch Foundation for Animals to educate children about animal awareness,” said said Elizabeth Palazzo, President, Purr’n Pooch Foundation for Animals.
Winners include Jacey Schnappauf (age 8) of Oceanport, Katarina Barc (age 9) of Colts Neck, Camryn Osofsky (age 7) of Rumson, Jake Connoly (age 9) of Lincroft, Dylan Palmeri (age 7) of Rumson, AJ Sollecito (age 7) of Little Silver, and Sabrina Sciarappa (age 7) of Eatontown.
The winners worked collaboratively to create the film over the course of several production workshops at Small Factory's studio in Fair Haven, NJ. Small Factory Productions has created a library of more than 200 cartoons produced by more than 1,000 children from across NY and NJ.
On Saturday, June 25 at 1:00 p.m. in Pier Village's Community Center, the Purr'n Pooch Foundation, Small Factory Productions and dozens of families will celebrate the premiere of "Tails of Love". The animated movie short is a joint project of the Purr'n Pooch Foundation for Animals and Small Factory Productions in support of the Foundation's educational initiatives to promote the humane treatment and adoption of animals.
“Thanks to the City of Long Branch and Pier Village, we are honored to premiere the children's hard work at "Paws" for a Cause Day and hope their story inspires others to save the lives of animals," said Palazzo.
The premiere is just part of a full day of dog gone fun this Saturday at Pier Village. Parents, children and pooches are invited to attend the Paws For A Cause Day starting at 10 a.m. The daylong event will celebrate man's best friend by dogs in several activities for families including exercise sessions, arts and crafts and several contests.
For more information on the event, contact Jennifer Smiga, "Paws" for a Cause Day Event Organizer, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
No admission will be charged to participate in the day's activities, but donations made to the Purr'n Pooch Foundation are greatly appreciated.
