Two people were taken to Riverview Medical Center after a two-car collision at the intersection of Rumson Road and Riverside Drive Tuesday afternoon.

A white SUV and a gold four-door sedan crashed around 4 p.m. Although it was raining, police said the accident was not weather related.

"One car was trying to make a right off of Riverside Drive and didn't see the other car coming when they pulled out," said Sgt. Damien Brennan of the Rumson Police Department. 

Two of the four people in the collision were transported to Riverview with help from the Rumson and Fair Haven EMS crews, according to police.

"They only seemed to have minor injuries," Brennan said.

Rumson Road was closed for a period of time between Wardell Avenue and Riverside Drive. If you are traveling in the area, expect mild delays.
