TELL US: Should Red Bank Ban Smoking in Parks?

The governing body is considering a ban that could start with borough parks.

There may soon be no place, or limited places, to go outside for a smoke in Red Bank.

The Borough Council last night discussed moving forward with banning smoking in parks, citing that if it can be done elsewhere, it can be done in Red Bank for the enhanced quality of life of residents and visitors to the borough looking to get some fresh air, according to a story in the Asbury Park Press.

Nothing definitive has yet been decided, but officials brought up that the idea makes sense in light of broader health initiatives undertaken by the mayor's Wellness Campaign Committee, according to the report.
