Springsteen's Old House for Sale: Should the City Buy It?
Cottage where musician wrote "Born to Run" is up for sale
The Asbury Park Press reported this week that the Long Branch home where Rumson resident Bruce Springsteen wrote some of his biggest hits such as "Born to Run" is up for sale.
The cottage, located at 71/2 West End Court, has five rooms, two bedrooms and one bath and is on the market for $349,900, according to the article.
Real estate agent Susan McLaughlin of Keller Williams Realty said in the article that she is "hopeful the city of Long Branch would buy the house and turn it into a music(al) heritage destination."
We want to know, do you like the idea of the city buying the house and turning into a museum?

Perhaps Bruce can buy it and turn it into something instead of hoping the city, which is still limping from the hurricane, would buy it.

I was finally able to come back online and comment further...
So we have a realtor who wants a commission and is trying to bump up the price by releasing this used to be somewhere BS lived. WTF?? Oh well, gee, is she giving up her commission as part of the donation/suggestion. Yeah.No. I don't thinks so.
Further, is she trying to insight a bidding war? Duh.
There are lots of ways to market a property. But this is by far one of the sleeziest I've seen.
I was real property paralegal for over 20 years both in NJ and PA and altho there are many realtors whom I trust, the majority seem to lean towards ridiculous marketing tools and well...basically lies.
So, this is a ridiculous and sleezy way to try and sell a property and I sugges that people steer clear of this individual realtor.

It would be fantastic for the Boss to purchase it & donate it to the Sandy ravaged town to document the rich musical legacy of Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band! A nice draw for tourism as well!
