Ceremony held at Victory Park under sunny skies

It was a moment of honor and remembrance in the calm after the Sandy storm.

Rumson residents, officials and veterans gathered Monday morning to pay tribute to those who have served and are serving the country.

The small crowd, including military personnel and scouts, gave thanks.

Take a look at the photo gallery above for a glimpse into the event. If you were there and have any photos you would like to add and/or tributes, feel free to do so.

This should have been an enormous crowd. How many people had off today that could have attended?

Agreed..I feel bad I was not able to attend since I had to assist in cleaning out my daughters place on Ocean Avenue in Sea Bright..the less than compassionate landlord insisted it be done today-it was a lot tomdo in a short amount of time.

There's an excuse every Veteran's Day. The size of the crowd this year was no smaller than in past years. We need to wake up and support our Veterans. They didn't make excuses when they stood to defend the USA.

I agree with Carl. This is only 1 hour out of the year that we in Rumson can thank our Servicemen and women. 1 hour! The service isn't even that long!! At least a few of us were there but it needs and should be much more.
