Residents will remember fallen 9/11 community members tomorrow by participating in the 11th Annual Keith McHeffey 3-mile race.
At 11 a.m. sharp on Saturday, March 10 participants will line up outside of the Sea Bright Recreation Center to run, jog, and walk to the Monmouth Beach border and back.
Last year, more than 600 people participated in the run while almost a thousand people came out to support them.
According to the Foundation's website, the foundation keeps the spirits of 9/11 victims alive through charitable functions. Named after Rumson/Fair Haven resident Keith McHeffey, the foundation has helped complete the children's playground at Fair Haven Field, created a permanent memorial to area victims by renovating Memorial Field at Piping Rock Park in Rumson, and donated a digital scoreboard to Sickles School in Fair Haven.
Registration for tomorrow’s run will begin at 9 a.m. at the Sea Bright Recreation Center. The cost of race-day registration is $35. All proceeds of tomorrow’s race will go to the KDM Foundation. After the race, participants and spectators are invited to a party at The Mad Hatter.
