Police said a Red Bank man drove into a Branch Avenue home and was subsequently charged with driving under the influence.

A man has been charged with driving under the influence after police said he drove into a home on Branch Avenue in neighboring Red Bank.

Capt. Darren McConnell said borough police responded to a crash at 7:51 p.m. Tuesday at Spring Street and Ambassador Drive. He said Frederick Schwarz, 46, of Red Bank had failed to stop at Spring Street and continued onto the back yard of a property on Branch Avenue, damaging a fence and causing minor damages to the home.

There were no injuries, McDonnell said.

Upon further investigation officers determined Schwarz had been driving under the influence, and he was charged accordingly, McDonnell said.
