Pilates: The New Fair Haven Project
Business dedicated to pilates instruction opened two weeks ago
There’s a new business shaping up in Fair Haven.
Just in time for lending a helping stretch to those on a mission toward a better bathing suit body for the summer, Fair Haven native Sandi Vilacoba opened The Pilates Project a couple of weeks ago in the rear shopping plaza by Acme.
You’ve probably walked or driven by the studio several times without noticing. And you’re not alone.
It’s because there’s no sign yet. But, Vilacoba ensures us that the studio is open for business.
Small group classes and private and semi-private instruction are offered on the reformer, Cadillac, chair, spine corrector and barrel equipment. Traditional mat classes are also taught.
Vilacoba is a trained pilates instructor and dancer. She is also a former journalist. Patch was offered a glimpse of the equipment and the inside of the studio for now, but will sit down with Vilacoba next week and find out what, exactly, it takes to dedicate one’s life to pilates and how she ended up back in Fair Haven with this business mission in mind.
Until then, check out the business’ website at www.thepilatesproject.net; and take a look at the above photos of the equipment. Who knew?
See if you can identify some of the equipment pictured. This clueless editor is going to have to wait for the full explanation from the expert next week.
