The Complete Paint the Town Pink 2012 Schedule
Meridian Health and Riverview Medical Center release this year's schedule of events for Paint the Town Pink.
Local residents will be seeing Pink later this week with the commencement of the annual Paint the Town Pink event.
From May 4 until May 12, residents in Red Bank (“Pink Bank”), Monmouth Beach (“Pink Beach”) Fair Haven (“Pink Haven”), Atlantic Highlands (“Atlantic Pinklands”) Holmdel (“Pinkdel”), Little Silver (“Little Pink”), Rumson (“Pinkson”) and Shrewsbury (“Pinkbury”) will be turning their towns pink by decorating their houses for the duration of this year’s Paint the Town Pink event. The annual multiple-day celebration is once again jam packed with local specials.
Below is a complete schedule of events and deals that will take place in Pinkson and Pink Haven during this year’s Paint the Town Pink.
Friday, May 4
- Town Tree lit in PINK lights Pink “Premier” Day Forrestdale School
Saturday, May 5
- Fair Haven Fitness and Karate is raising money for Paint the Town Pink by allowing attendees to get out their aggression. For $5, attendees can break a board or spar with sensi. There will also be a $10 raffle to win a karate party.
- Pink Bingo at Rumson Fair Haven Regional High School cafeteria from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Please register for Bingo at 1-800-Doctors.
- Rumson House and Business Decoration Judging
Sunday, May 6
- From 8 a.m. until noon, there will be a Scouts Fight Pancake Breakfast at Church of the Nativity in Fair Haven. Cost is $7 per adult and $5 per child and local promotions by some of Fair Haven businesses.
Monday, May 7
- Rumson schools begin Pink Activities – Deane Porter,Forrestdale, Rumson-Fair Haven,Holy Cross and Rumson Country Day School will be decorated. Kick off breakfast will be held at RFH with Paint the Town T-shirts available for purchase.
- Bain's Outdoor Living is hosting a pink garden party with 5% of all sales being donated to Riverview Medical Center. Refreshments for the event donated by Val's Tavern.
Tuesday, May 8
- Entertain with Jane and Cups & Cakes are sponsoring a Paint the Town Pink Kids Party on Tuesday from 3 p.m.- until 6 p.m. at 114 East River Road. Jane DiMisa, Owner/Certified Floral Designer, Entertain with Jane purchased a school bus from the Rumson Country Day School Rummage Sale and had it painted pink for the event. Local school children are invited to come and paint a piece of Rumson history by painting flowers on the bus that will be used for future floral deliveries. Other activities include: magician Magic Mike, bounce house, petting zoo, Mother’s Day painting crafts and face painting with refreshments provided by Cups & Cakes.
Thursday, May 10
- A Mammogram Pledge Table will be set up at Salt Creek Grille from noon until 2 p.m. for Kitchen Tour
Friday, May 11
- RFH Pink Pride Day: Mammogram Pledge Table at Rumson Run from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.
Saturday, May 12
- The Knights of Columbus will be hosting a “Pink Night at the Knights” featuring a DJ, food from local eateries, cash bar, and gift auction. Kick Dance Studio’s dance team will also be performing and have a Dance-a-thon. Those who are interested in attending Pink Night, can register at 1-800-DOCTORS ahead of time so a headcount can be made, but payment of $20 at the door will be accepted.
- Beauregard Fine Art Show from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
- Jen from Synergy YOGA will be running a Paint the Town Pink promotion: wear pink on Saturday and get a free class
The Oceanic PINK Library (The Oceanic Free Library) will also be participating in the events by having a special table set up with brochures from the American Cancer Society and the Avon Crusade Against Cancer. All are invited to come in for these free and informative brochures, and to check out the books on display as well.

- Cups & Cakes - selling sugar cookies with Breast Cancer Awareness Ribbon on them and a Pink Velvet Cake. A portion of sales will be donated to Mammography awareness.

- Nature's Emporium -will find donation opportunity in store
- Fair Haven Animal Hospital -15% off new client acupuncture consult & treatment for the week
- River Road Books -book in a box special
- Alana Salon - Free paraffin hand treatment with $5 or more donation to Paint the Town Pink
- Two River's Animal Hospital will be giving each patient a pink bandana during Pink Week
- Pauline's Paperie will donate 15% of all Lily Pulitzer sales during Pink Week
- Fair Haven Yacht Works will donate proceeds from sales of special pink & black baseball caps
- Edward Jones -stop by for a complimentary PINK stress release piggy
- Frame it Yourself -20% off any job that includes a pink mat or frame
- FairWinds Deli -will find donation opportunity in store & donating 6-ft sub to Knights of Columbus event
- Fair Haven Hardware -will find donation opportunity in store
- Taste and Technique -15% off any retail item during Pink Week

Paint the Town Pink merchandise such as shirts, hats, flags, towels, and more will be for sale at Fair Haven Fields on Saturday, May 5 from 9 a.m. until noon. Items can also be purchased at the Pancake Breakfast on May 6, and at the Knights of Columbus event on May 12. Pink Flower Pots can also be purchased by emailing Ellenmiles@comcast.net.
