Multiple Accidents Reported on Garden State Parkway
Six accidents between mile markers 109 and 117 occurred after Monday night's snowfall.
An eight-mile span of the Garden State Parkway was the scene of six accidents in a little over an hour last night.
A snowstorm Monday evening caused slippery road conditions. The New Jersey Department of Transportation's 511nj.org reported two accidents on the northbound side of the parkway and two on the southbound side between milemarkers 116 and 117. Additional incidents were reported near milemarkers 114 and 109.
First Aid squads from Holmdel and Hazlet transported motorists with neck and back injuries, and some with head injuries, to Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel.
At 8:57 p.m., an accident on the inner northbound lane north of Exit 117 in Aberdeen closed the left lane.
At 9:20 p.m., an accident on the inner southbound lane north of the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel blocked off the right lane.
At 9:23 p.m., an accident on the inner northbound lane north of the PNC Bank Arts Center closed the right shoulder.
At 9:29 p.m., an accident on the outer northbound roadway just south of the PNC Bank Arts Center with the lane partially blocked. Injuries were reported in connection with the fourth accident, according to 511nj.org. The extent of the injuries were not immediately known.
At 10:02 p.m., a vehicle was reported to be off the roadway on the northbound side north of Exit 114 in Holmdel.
At 10:07 p.m., an accident occurred on the northbound side south of Exit 109 in Middletown.
