Man Struck by Train in Red Bank
The unidentified man was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center in unknown condition.
An unidentified man was struck by a train entering the Red Bank train station on the northbound rail just before 9:30 p.m. Sunday night. With Red Bank firefighters shielding the scene with large sheets, emergency medical personel were able to extricate the badly-injured man about 15 minutes after the accident took place, though his current condition is unknown.
Red Bank Volunteer Fire Department Chief Josh Sanders said a medivac was called to Count Basie Park but was canceled just minutes after the man was loaded into the ambulance. He was instead directed to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune.

I would like to ask the borough or transport department to check the lights horn and bars of the trains. I was at the Little Silver train station one day and the bars kept going up and down, quite a bit of traffic was backed up at both ends waiting for this to stop. I hope someone else also reported it , this is dangerous and scary, not to mention the damage it can do to one's car by hitting the top etc.Thanks, RC

I saw the train last night. I can't believe this happened. I do railroad photography as a hobby and I'm also a railfan and when I saw the headlight on the ALP-46A electric locomotive which is the locomotive shown in the photo above I knew something was wrong. My prayers go out to the victim and their families.
