Man Charged with Threatening FH Cops

NY man allegedly wanted to fight police

A Staten Island man has been arrested and charged with threatening to commit aggravated assault against two officers.

Dennis Bannon, 56, of 314 Edison Street, Staten Island, NY, was arrested on May 21 after he allegedly threatened to harm Cpl. John Waltz and Patrolman Dwayne Reevey for the purpose of causing a “public inconvenience” and in “reckless disregard” of the officers’ welfare, a complaint warrant, signed by Waltz, said.

While transporting Bannon in the police vehicle and while in custody at police headquarters, he also allegedly threatened to fight the officers and “kick the officers’ a…,” the complaint said.

Bannon was charged with threats of aggravated assault against the officers.

His bail was set at $2,500, with no 10 percent option.

His initial court appearance in is slated for May 24 at 9 a.m.
