An area Sovereign Bank was robbed on Monday afternoon, police said.

The branch of the bank at 600 Broadway, Long Branch, was robbed late Monday afternoon, according to Long Branch Police Capt. Jason Roebuck.

The Long Branch Police are searching for a suspect who reportedly fled on foot after taking an unknown amount of money from the bank.

Roebuck said there were no injuries reported during the robbery.
