Lighting Rumson Green for St. Pat's

The borough gets into the spirit for its first St. Patrick's Day Parade

Rumson has gone green — St. Patrick's Day green.

When the borough kicked off the festivities leading to its first annual St. Patrick's Day parade with a town get together and laser light show in Victory Park last week, officials encouraged residents and businesses to light the town green.

Since the kick-off, many have taken the initiative to heart. Driving down the main River Road corridor, west to east, several businesses are lit up with some sort of green bulbs and/or decorations.

And, going down some side streets, you'll find many residents were up to the challenge as well. As a result, the borough has a green glow at night these days.

Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School's signature tower is spotlit with green, the flagpole and all lit structures at Victory Park are green and most every business has the Irish glow about it.
