My neighbor works for JCPL and they estimate 7 to 10 days maybe sooner but that is worst case

After power is restored (and we know how long it took and why it went out), perhaps we should ask some questions about the reliability of JCP&L's service. Why do 85% of customers in Sea Bright have power, 70% in Avon ... and can the rest of us get what they have?

Kind of odd the Shore Towns are faring better than us in regards to power!!!

We are in a small section of Toms River that has the wires underground. We have electric but most of the town out.

The more underground wiring, the faster power is restored. It is the older neighborhoods with above ground wiring and lots of trees that take the longest time for power restoration. I learned that from living here in North Carolina - next to a well lit newer part of town with- power faster after hurricanes. fyi

Not all beach towns have electricity. We have been out in Belmar for 3 days. All surrounding towns still out as well.

There is NO POWER in the BEACH TOWNS. 90% to 100% NO POWER. The internet rumors are so warped and you people believe what you hear or read. We have NO POWER. STOP the whining, people at the shore have NO HOMES!!!!!

They restored Tinton falls and Lincroft, all had water because they're not using wells. Meanwhile Colts Neck a township fully dependent on well water, has been forgotten. Makes you wonder how they're prioritizing the recovery efforts.

They need to work towards moving all lines underground. As it was said those systems restore faster. 7 to 10 days was the estimate prestorm. 100% still no power in middletown a current update on restoral efforts would help. Also 600 jcpl trucks were in middletown at 5 guys thought it was a big push but trucks are gone and no work done.

I live in a small area in TR with underground wires. We were without power for only 2 hrs on Monday. Id say, rebuilding? go with the underground wires!
