Irish Up at Rumson St. Paddy's Parade
The first annual parade in the borough was a success
River Road, west to east, was flush with the spirit o' the Irish as the first annual Rumson St. Patrick's Day Parade made its way through town Sunday afternoon.
With a full line-up of pipe and drum bands from all over the state, scouts, businesses, municipal officials, fire and first aid companies, classic and antique cars, school bands and special interest groups, the parade ran for about an hour.
The luck o' the Irish was on Rumson's side, as the weather held out and there were plenty of sights to see on and off the parade line-up.
Take a look at the photo gallery above for a glimpse into the first-time event.

Wonderful parade. Figured over 1000 folks attended. Could be the event of the year for Rumson. May it become a regular happening.

Now how about we get this type of turnout and press for both Veteran's and Memorial Day ceremonies? That's what really matters people. Not this sham of a holiday we call St Patrick's which unfortunately has become just another excuse to drink.
