FH Mayor: Expect 'Reasonable' Power Restoration by Wednesday

Youth Center remains open as a comfort station

Fair Haven Mayor Ben Lucarelli said he expects the borough to start regaining power by Wednesday.

As of Monday morning, JCP&L reports 1,585 of the borough's 6,121 residents (as of the 2010 Census) without power, although the actual number of homes and businesses is likely considerably larger.

Lucarelli said the "latest information is that Fair Haven will have reasonable restoration by Wednesday." The mayor cautions to continue to exercise extreme caution around downed wires and to report any arching wires to police at 732-747-0991.

The Youth Center behind police headquarters remains open as a comfort station for those who want to come in from the cold and recharge their devices. Wifi is available.

Lucarelli said the borough is working to identify an alternative site for the comfort center Tuesday while polls are open.

Additionally, the borough tentatively plans to hold Halloween from 1 to 5 p.m. Nov. 11, if conditions permit it.

This article is conflating the number of JCP&L customers with town resients. Basically the 1,585 customers without power is the entire town. I don't know anyone or anywhere in town that has regained power yet. There are on average 3-4 residents per named customer of JCP&L (we are a kid hapy town). Be sure you are reading their workplans and updates correctly otherwise it appears they have done a lot more restoration than actually happened. You can double check this by looking at their total percent restored, which equals zero by JCP&L owns numbers in FH. Best of luck to us all on getting it done soon. Keep warm Fair Haven!

Yes, the JCPL reports confirm that 0% of Fair Haven has no power. What this article says is not right.
