WW II vets get together for a rare occasion and meet up after years apart

"Absolutely" was the response officials gave when asked if there would still be a Veterans Day ceremony in Fair Haven this year, following the havoc Hurricane Sandy wreaked on the area.

The service, which is a staple every year, will take place at Memorial Park, at the corner of River and Fair Haven roads, at 11 a.m. on Sunday.

All are invited and encouraged to attend the tribute to veterans nationwide.

Last year, at a memorial dedication at Thorne Middle School, Middletown, Battle of the Bulge survivors reunited.

Watch the above video, filmed by Emmy-nominated Steve Rogers, for some rare footage of some of those who are part of a dying breed dubbed The Greatest Generation.

Thank you to all of our vets!
