Art students at Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFHRHS) are designing to make a difference in the lives of women receiving cancer treatment.
The Art Honors Society has created Fashion for Compassion, a fashion show featuring artistic couture and accessories created by students across the art program. Benefits from the show will go towards Lin’s Linens, an organization that supports women receiving treatment for cancer. The show will feature two musical opening acts and will have numerous raffles for certificates from area restaurants and boutiques.
Students have been working feverishly to prepare their clothing and accessories for the show. In order to make this a successful event and fundraiser, students involved in the fashion show have been planning with school faculty and individuals in the fashion industry on show design, program, promotion, and other details.
“I’m proud that they demonstrate such dedication to both the arts and how the arts can be used to help others,” said Kristen Lanfrank, adviser to the Art Honors Society.
Fashion for Compassion will begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 2 and will be held in the RFHRHS school auditorium. There are two tiers of tickets available for this event; $20 for regular admission and $100 VIP tickets which are reserved front row seating with gifts from Lin’s Linens including commemorative framed posters and Lin' Linens signature healing bracelets.
