1. Wind and Rain: According to the National Weather Service, today will be rainy with a high near 61 degrees and a south wind 14 to 18 mph becoming west. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph. Tonight will be partly cloudy with a low around 34 degrees. It is expected to be a bit breezy, with a west wind 20 to 23 mph decreasing to between 11 and 14 mph. Winds could gust as high as 33 mph.
2. Whiz Kid: Maris Krauss, a junior at Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School, is in the running to win Seventeen Magazine’s 2012 Fiction Contest. Seventeen Magazine's 2012 Fiction Contest challenged magazine readers to write a story in 500 words or less. The entries had to be submitted to Figment.com, an online writing community. 3. Possession: A Monmouth County Grand Jury voted Jan. 25 to indict two Fair Haven men for possession of heroine. One of the men was also indicted for possession of cocaine. They were arrested for possession in Neptune on Sept. 29, 2011. Click here for more details.
4. Red Carpet Treatment: Fair Haven dads have the opportunity to treat their little girls to a special night out on the town next month. The fourth-annual Fair Haven Father Daughter dance is set for February 18. The affair will take place at the Raven and the Peach from 6:30-9:30 p.m. and is open to grades 1-6.
